Years since I learned to walk,
Years since I learned how to talk
The roads and the crowd along, that’s what my eyes have showed.
Pebbles, noise and confusion strong,
Darkness under every head and arm,
My eyes have stuck upon this long road,
and my body bent by some unknown load.
Didn’t I realized what I am,
A cow, beast or a ram;
I flocked along this infinitely long fleet,
And never found the sign of momentous deplete.
I never knew that I had become a part of this race,
My foot tied along with others in a total disgrace
Years I didn’t felt what I am for
Years I walked keeping my head down
For the first time I was jumbled,
And felt I am being crumbled;
For the first time I put a question before myself,
And for the first time I was my own rival.
For the first time, to think I stood
Nevertheless I couldn’t stand
As the chain pushed and pulled
I heard the song of a morning bird ,
My eyes still stuck on the moving dead ground
I looked above to search the source
And for the first time I felt the mighty suns force.
For the first time in many years
I felt the cool winds
And was absorbed for a minute,
But then I felt the handcuffs and the nuts
The emotions won and I tried to pull me out,
I realized that I should be free or live not
I felt the muscles of mine fine and strong
I felt the urge to hear the bird’s song.
So the attention of slaves was caught
They thought that I was the cause of riot,
I tried to explain that we all free,
But to my astonishment the slaves do not agree,
I fought for humanity and light which was my own,
The seed has bore the fruits which the bird had sown,
I could feel the fist and came to know that they were weak,
Slaves of the system and slavery they need
I fought the lone battle and my passion was thrashed,
Yet my dieing eyes could see the impression on the young they left,
My eyes closed and my freedom arose,
And I became the king of roads.
